december daily - the 21st

happy weekend my friends!  i just can't believe that Christmas is just a few short days away! my Christmas vacation has gotten off to a very relaxing start today,  we slept in, had many cups of eggnog vanilla kahlua lattes, lounged around in our pj's all day and this afternoon we each basked in the enjoyment of our hobbies.  my guys... playing computer games and for me... digital scrapping! since school is now out and i have a bit more time to devote to december daily i decided to try something a bit different and a little crafty for my album.

my idea started when i received a coupon from walgreens in my email today for a free 5 x 7 print... i thought 'hmmmm, i can't pass that up and how shall i use it?'... well funny how ideas get started and one thing leads to another... i measured my december daily album and a 5 x 7 print would fit in there perfectly! still trying to keep things fairly simple... i decided that i was going to try and use just the 4 x 4 instagram pictures, place the description on the picture using photoshop... and using my typewriter - type up the daily events.  so while i was waiting on my print order, here is what i did...

i took my double 4 x 6 sheet protector, scored it to fit a 4 x 4, ran it through my sewing machine and  trimmed off the excess edge.

now the protectors are ready for me to slide in my 4 x 4 pictures in as soon as i pick them up.

next i took an old paper shopping bag

trimmed off the bottom

split the bag down the center

remove the handles (but will save to use on another project)

trimmed to 8.5 x 11

i wanted to use this darling little freebie that i  received from stephanie ackerman. i converted the pdf to a jpg and using photoshop made a stamp and printed off on the 8.5 x 11 shopping bag paper.

next, trimmed down to 5 x 7 to fit on the back of my photo. using le plume markers i colored the little girl.

now it is ready for me to type our daily log of the day.

how i have enjoyed having the time today for this little project, along with working on december daily and a digital photobook for my two of my dear friends Christmas presents.

here is the digital part of my december daily...
